What goes up, Must Come Down!

After blasting the Canadians and Lightning on home ice, the Rangers can't muster one goal on the brief road trip in two straight games.

What a turn of events, after leaving the Garden on the highest note of the season with 14 goals for in two games the Rangers couldn't get one by the goal crease again for two straight games.

Last night in Montreal the Canadians Mike Cammalleri had a huge four point night with two goals and two assists as the Canadians put up four goals in period two on their way to a 6-0 win.

Ex Ranger Scotty Gomez would get the party going when he put home a wrist shot at 9:05 of the first. Period one would end with the Canadians up 1-0 while being out shot by the Rangers 13-10.

The Canadians would out shoot the Rangers in the second 11-7 but more important they put home four of those shots on goal. After the third goal scored on the Rangers in the second Lundqvist would be relived by rookie goalie Matt Zabba. Zabba would make his debut in the NHL and after making his first save he would let his first NHL goal by the crease. Zabba would let two goals against on the night but both goals against would be while the Rangers where short handed.

Rangers had some good opportunities to score some goals but goalie Halak of Montreal made some huge saves. Stopping Dury on a one time blast and Vinny Prospal at point blank range. Enver Lisin also would ding a blaze off the pipe to keep the shut out at bay and keep the Rangers score less for two straight games.

The inconsistency of the Rangers this season could cost them a playoff spot as the season moves on and it looks like playoff pictures won't be decided till the last game of play. New York needs to be more consistent if they want insure a spot in the second season.

Next up is Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, another tuff match up from one of the tuff est teams in the Eastern Conference, at least the Rangers will be on home ice where they put up 14 goals in the last two and should be ready for another out burst without scoring on their brief road trip.
